Fubon Aozihdi
Commercial Development

2018
Masterplan

This project was a B6-48-story commercial development in Kaohsiung, featuring a mix of functions, including a mall, offices, a hotel, an aquarium, and storage areas. As a large-scale, multifunctional development, it involved collaboration among various groups and consultants. Our office was responsible for project construction management in cooperation with T.Y. Lin, ensuring smooth progress and coordination across disciplines.

In my role as a project management architect, I focused on reviewing the building layout for functional efficiency and compliance with regulations. Given the project's complexity, with five distinct functions and highly intricate circulation routes, I worked with Arup’s elevator consultants to design an innovative transfer floor mechanism on the 9th floor. This system divided office spaces into three zones and streamlined elevator operations, enabling efficient peak-time management. As a result, the original elevator waiting time of four minutes was reduced to just two and a half minutes, significantly improving user experience.

Additionally, I conducted a comprehensive review of the project's regulatory compliance. Due to its scale, standard egress requirements were complemented by performance-based fire safety and evacuation design. I developed a customized escape system tailored to the project's unique needs, ensuring the highest standards of safety. This project exemplifies my ability to manage large-scale developments, integrate complex systems, and balance functionality, safety, and efficiency in urban architecture.
