NTHC Underground Parking Lot
Project Management

2021-2024
Project management

This project involved the construction of a three-level underground parking facility adjacent to an MRT entrance, designed to promote seamless transitions from private vehicles to public transportation. Located within the New Taipei Industrial Vocational High School, the project prioritized safety by incorporating separate entrances for cars and pedestrians. Beyond the parking facility, the scope included infrastructure renovations such as upgrading lighting systems, refurbishing basketball courts, and adding a pavilion to enhance the school’s amenities.

A unique aspect of this project was the strategic planning for future development. Due to the school’s budgetary constraints, we incorporated load-bearing capacity within the basement parking columns to support a potential five-story teaching building above the structure. This forward-thinking design ensured that the current development could adapt to future needs without requiring significant structural modifications.

The completed facility provides 217 car parking spaces and 733 motorcycle spaces, addressing the needs of both the school and the surrounding community. As one of my few fully completed projects, this experience highlighted the importance of integrating current infrastructure with future growth opportunities, while successfully meeting stakeholder expectations and delivering practical solutions for urban mobility and community use.
